museum since 1924. The palace is located where the acropolis of Byzantium

MOSQUE OF EYUP
|
The first mosque built after the Ottoman conquest of the city ,this greatly venerated shrine attracts many pilgrims.Eyup is considered a sacred site by Moslem. Eyup-el-Ensari, the flag bearer of Mohammed,was killed here in the 7th century during the Arab seige. His grave,discovered during the conques of Istanbul, was enclosed by a large mausoleum , and next to it the first prominent mosque in Istanbul was built.

MUSEUM THE BASILICA OF AYASOFYA
| (Holy wisdom) Now called the Ayasofya Museum is
unguestionably one of the finest buildings of all time.The haghia Sophia ,
nominated by many authors and historians as ona of the eighth wonders of
the world , is certainly a masterpiece of architecture since it is one of
the few structures of such huge dimensions to have stood erect for so long
.It is architecturel mastery was far a head of its time and unmatched for
1000 years.

THE KARIYE MUSEUM

After Hagia
Sophia, the most important Byzantine
monument in Istanbul. Probobly a small church which had been built here
before the 5th century Roman city walls gave its name to the other
churches built later at the same site .the existing edifice to the
11th-14th century turies.
